The High school student Internship Program in Integrated Mathematical Oncology (HIP IMO) is a mentored summer training program designed for high school students ages 16 or older who are interested in interdisciplinary cancer research careers. HIP IMO provides an integrated mathematical oncology-centric internship that delivers interdisciplinary team science research experiences. The program runs for 8 weeks during the summer (typically June through August) at the Stabile Research Building at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. Interns work weekdays from 10 AM to 4 PM under the mentorship of faculty and scientists from the Integrated Mathematical Oncology (IMO) department.

The Integrated Mathematical Oncology (IMO) Workshop is an annual intensive workshop chaired and organized by the IMO Department Chair, Sandy Anderson. The workshop is fully supported by Moffitt Cancer Center and Moffitt’s Physical Sciences Oncology Center, with participation from all IMO faculty, research scientists, postdocs, and students. The workshop is designed to provide a hands-on modeling experience focused on different aspects of cancer progression and treatment each year. Over 4.5 intense days, participants are divided into interdisciplinary teams that integrate clinical, experimental, and theoretical members to develop and implement mathematical models focused on the specific annual theme. Each team works to:
